Hello, Pacifica! The staff here at the Half Moon Bay Review is excited to be taking on the challenge of getting two newspapers out to its respective communities each week — the Half Moon Bay Review to the Coastside communities from Pescadero to Montara, and the Pacifica Tribune to all of you in Pacifica.
Both newspapers have their own long-established brand, their own identity, and their own loyal readership — and we intend to keep it that way. What we can provide is a brick-and- mortar location just down the road in Half Moon Bay, a physical address with an office, and someone to answer the phone and help with your questions about subscriptions, legal notices, obituaries. We are here for you.
We want to grow the Tribune with more coverage, more photos, more local touches. We want to grow the subscriber base. We want local advertisers to find value in being part of the Tribune pages and website. And we need all of you in order to accomplish this. We’d like you to join us in moving forward as a reader, subscriber and advertiser.
But first, please be patient with us! We expect there to be bumps in the road and a few glitches as we move subscribers to a new system, get our printer and delivery routes set up, advertisers into our database, and make changes to our website and social media pages. For these first few weeks, just getting the paper out the door will be a huge challenge for us.
In the next few months, however, we hope you will be pleasantly surprised to see a more robust weekly Pacifica Tribune, On The Coastside glossy magazine inserted monthly, weekly e-newsletters including breaking news, and a vibrant online presence with brand-new website.
Moving forward we want you to know this is your town, your news, your paper. We are so excited to be part of it, neighbor!
Debra Hershon is publisher of the Pacifica Tribune.
