Sexual assault case dismissed: Andres Gabriel Campos, 43, of Pacifica, had been charged with four different sexual assaults with four different female victims unable to resist his attacks, said Steve Wagstaffe, San Mateo County District Attorney. All charges were dismissed Sept. 1 due to insufficient evidence, as the victims declined to cooperate, Wagstaffe said.
Gypsy Hill Road fires: Carlos Henriquezcortez, 50, a transient, was found near Gypsy Hill Road July 21 at 7 p.m. and is accused of setting two fires ten feet apart on the hillside near the road. A witness identified him at the scene and called 9-1-1. Police said he had been intoxicated and found a lighter in his pocket, Wagstaffe said. He told police someone else had set the fires.
A preliminary hearing was held Sept. 1 and the defendant was held to answer on all charges, Wagstaffe said. Two prosecution witnesses testified from the Pacifica police department, Sergeant Duane Wachtelborn and Officer Joseph Gomez. The defense produced no witnesses.
